Never presented in English before joining Brican, now she won the best Presenter in Bangkok, where she presented fully in English for the first time!
Dr Norhafizah works with the Ministry of Health Malaysia.
She holds an important role, where she helps prepare speech scripts in Malay for some of the most important people in MOH.
However, she knew that her English was holding back her progress.
Before joining Brican, she had attended many English classes, but she still could not speak English. The classes she attended focused on grammar studies and lessons for purposes of exam, whilst what she really needed was practical English for work usage.
After just 12 sessions with Brican English, Dr Norhafizah shared that she can now speak fully in English without hesitation.

Ts. Redwan Jaffar is the the Head of Environmental Health Department at DSH Institute of Technology.
Before joining Brican, he often avoided meetings with board members because he did not feel ready to answer questions in English.
This was frustrating for him, especially because there is a known unspoken expectation for people in his position to speak English or to have the ability to speak English.
After joining Brican for just 12 sessions, Ts. Redwan shared that he could now attend board meetings and answer questions fully in English.
Not only that, after joining Brican, he went on stage and delivered a talk in front of 150 people, fully in English!

“Prior to joining this English course, I was not confident to write nor speak in English. However, after joining this course, I found myself speaking comfortably in English. Also, I signed up as a Speaker for a World Conference on Exercise Medicine recently, where I presented my talk in front of hundreds of medical experts from all over the world, in English!
I was nervous but the English lessons helped. The talk went well and in fact I signed up to be a speaker for another world conference in Hungary.
Meanwhile, at the clinic, I now find myself ordering medical supplies and talking to the supplier on the phone in English. This is so unlike me before, whereby I would only speak to suppliers in Malay. As for writing, I now write longer patient reports.
In addition, I was invited for an interview by Bernama where I was interviewed alongside other doctors, fully in English. I responded to the reporter in English. So that went well too.”
Our Founder
Yasmin Kamil is the founder of Brican English (formerly known as Yasmin Lingo). Born in West Virginia, USA, and raised in an English-speaking environment, she speaks both English and Malay fluently.
She is a certified English trainer with a CELTA qualification from Cambridge University, United Kingdom, one of the most recognised English teaching qualifications in the world. She is also a qualified lawyer and has experience working in the Oil & Gas corporate sector as a Legal Advisor and Agreement Drafter.
Prior to obtaining her CELTA qualification, Yasmin earned two law degrees — Bachelor of Laws (Hons) [LLB (Hons)] and Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons) [BLS (Hons)] — and was subsequently called to the Bar. She previously worked as a corporate executive and legal advisor in the Oil and Gas industry at the Petronas Twin Towers, where her responsibilities included drafting and executing agreements, corporate deal negotiations, and legal advisory work.
Having worked in the corporate world herself, Yasmin understands firsthand the pressures and expectations faced by working professionals. Hence, her methods and approach are shaped by real corporate working experience and not by academic-sector experience.
Because she understands both English and Malay deeply, she is able to help Malay working adults overcome the common struggles they face when learning and using English. After receiving strong positive feedback for making English easier to understand and apply, Yasmin decided to focus fully on helping working adults improve their English for everyday professional success.

2-Day Training To SSM Management Team
We recently conducted a successful 2-day online training session with Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM).
8 participants attended the programme, which mainly from the management-level from various states around Malaysia. Throughout the session, participants were guided on how to communicate more effectively and professionally in English, especially in workplace situations involving meetings, discussions, and presentations.
